Moscow Government Officials, in Israel on official diplomatic business (second to their football duties) opened their account in the 6th minute in what turned out to be an exciting encounter with entertaining end-to-end football.

Indeed both sides had periods of domination with the Russians creating more scoring chances but had they not tried to walk the ball home instead of shooting they would have won.

In this second game for Maccabi GB, goalkeeper Gary Grant again commanded his net par excellence when his defence were all at sea. Mark Kingstno levelled the score in the 21st minute latching onto a headed cross from Nigel Conway.

Minutes into the second half, Moscow retook the lead but goal ace Marc Morris was on hand to put away GB's second from Arthur Dukes' cross from the right deep inside the Russian half.

As the minutes ticked away, both sides played their hearts out to grab the spoils. Both Johnny Holman and Brian Donn blocked first half attempts from the Russians when Grant was off his line and in the second half Ian Leader fired a long shot wide.

The Maccabi Vets gave their all and indeed were a credit to Masters football despite being under the cosh for periods.
