January Decision For Sahar
Israeli striker Ben Sahar has admitted he will weigh up his options in January, in a bid to get more playing time on the pitch.
The Chelsea striker, is currently on a six-month loan spell at Portsmouth, though still awaiting to make his first competitive appearance, told TJ how the turn of the year could see him make a change. He said: "I went to Portsmouth at the start of the season to play more football but that hasn't been the case, so I will wait until January and then see what the situation is.
"I have had injuries but now I'm ready and I'm fit. I knew it would be difficult [to get into the side] and it would be a challenge. There are still two months until January so we'll see what the situation is then."
Sahar was Israel's youngest ever player in the national set-up, that was until earlier this year when 17-year-old Gai Assulin made his debut. Currently at Spanish giants Barcelona, Assulin has now been linked with a move to London, with Spurs and Chelsea favourites to bring him to the Premier League, though Sahar believes it may be best for the youngster to stay at the Nou Camp for the time being. "He's a very good player, very talented and I'm sure would do well here," he said. "But I would tell him to stay for a bit longer at Barcelona before coming over here. Especially with Chelsea, they have a very big squad and keep buying players in so it's difficult."
Sahar was speaking at the World Travel Market where he was a special guest at Israel's stall. Happy to part of the set-up at the Excel Centre, he said: "I'm very proud of being Israeli and I'm happy to do my part by being here and representing Israel
"Israel's a fantastic place, there are lots of nice places to visit, great beaches and the weather's a lot nicer than here!"
